Eventually, CALL adapted to the new approaches beyond audio-lingualism, such as Silent Way, Suggestopedia, Community Language Learning, Total Physical Response, culminating in Krashen's Principles and Practices of Second Language Acquisition (1982), which led to the received wisdom of using pairs and triads for computer exercises, games, and simulations.
